Area Inns offer "Hospitality for Habitat" to Visitors
The Ocean Gate Resort, in conjunction with other area inns is proud to announce it will be offering "Hospitality for Habitat" to visiting guests, a program sponsored by The Maine Innkeepers Association, which raises funds for Habitat for Humanity projects all over Maine.
The program, which is in its fifth year, will run from May 1 to May 23 this spring, and offers visitors a 50 percent discount off regular room rates in exchange for a $35 donation to Habitat for Humanity.
"We are pleased to participate with our guests in such a worthy cause," said Frank Gaynor, General Manager, Ocean Gate Resort. "We understand that each home Habitat volunteers build makes a huge difference in someone's life.
"Our guests appreciate that in return for their donation to Habitat for Humanity they can enjoy a vacation at half the regular room rate. It's a win-win; great rates for a great cause."
Boothbay region B&Bs participating include The Kenniston Hill Inn, Bayside Inn B&B, as well as the Lawnmere Inn and the Newagen Seaside Inn will join over thirty participating members of The Maine Innkeepers Association to help build houses for low income families.
In 2007, Hospitality for Habitat raised $6,240 and helped provide housing for deserving families in Maine. Every year since the program began in 2004, The Maine Innkeepers Association has increased its participation and donation to Habitat for Humanity.
To participate in Hospitality for Habitat, please make reservations in advance and receive a 50 percent
discount off regular rates. Your tax-deductible donation of $35 should be made out to Habitat for Humanity in the form of a check and given to the Innkeeper.
