Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club
Scotty
Columnist
The job of writing a BHYC column this week is going to be a piece of cake. About the time I steadied myself comfortably with my computer set in the word process configuration, along comes an e-mail from Lynne Nordoff, our newsletter editor, with 12 pages of BHYC news. Most members have an email address and have received the Newsletter already, so a lot of the following is redundant.
Lynne has been the contact person for the April 4th BHYC Winter Reunion in Naples Fla. How she managed to keep all this sorted out borders on genius. Get in touch with her ASAP if you plan to attend the April 4 th bash in Naples.
I drove over to the club yesterday and there is evidence of the new Jr. Program pier and float. The picture referred to in the Newsletter didn't come up on my computer but it will be on the north side of the clubhouse and appeared, from my vantage point, to blend in very nicely with the architecture. The ramp and float are under construction at Blake's, which leads me to the BHYC cocktail party tonight, March 20, at Joe and Brenda's place. The time is 5:30 p.m. with the usual drill in place. The April party will be at Art and Verna Slater's home on April 17th.
I had a call from Alice Mutch this past weekend and was surprised to learn that she just had her gall bladder removed. She is doing fine, in and out of the hospital in one day.
I haven't digested the entire spring Newsletter yet, but from what I learned in scanning 12 pages is that we are in for a busy and enjoyable 2008 season. Well done Lynne. |
