Trevett

February 20
th
was the perfect cold, windy night to attend a soup/ chowder supper and
about 40 Trevett residents took advantage of it. We had every soup
imaginable from cream of mushroom to fish chowder to chicken chili and
everything in between and they were all scrumptious. Others brought
home-made bread, salads, and desserts. It was all delicious! Thanks to
Jaime and Dave for hosting this event. They did a great job.
The BICA Cookbook Committee is still looking for recipes for our
Barters Island Cookbook. If you would like to e-mail your recipes, please
send them to Maureen Berry (e-mail:
kberry@gwi.net
) or Lor-raine Hodgdon (e-mail:
islander 04571@roadrunner.com
). Don't forget to identify the category as Appetizers & Beverages, Soups
& Salads, Vegetables & Side Dishes, Main Dishes, Breads & Rolls, Desserts,
Cookies & Candy, or This & That. Also, name your recipes and put your
phone numbers on them. We still can use several more recipes in all
categories. The contest to name the cookbook is still open. Send in your
entries (no name, just phone number) as soon as possible to win a free
cookbook. The deadline for recipes and contest entries is March 31.
Is everybody working on their Easter bonnets for our "Wild Easter
Bonnet Contest" on Wednesday, March 19? That night will be our usual Pot
Luck Supper at 6 p.m. and we will have our own Barters Island Easter
Parade. Prizes will be given for the wildest bonnet. Sounds like lots of
fun to me. We have a very competitive group when it comes to contests, so
we should have a WILD time. Just bring your main dish, salad or dessert
and, as usual all Trevett residents are invited.
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, April 16. We will be having a
presentation on "identity theft" by the Post Office that evening at our
usual potluck supper.
Start checking out those Italian recipes for our Italian Night Potluck
on May 21. We always look forward to seeing some new faces and meeting
some new residents at all of these suppers.
