The Domestic Abuse Prevention Council (DAPC) is sponsoring a
fund-raising event, "Dining for Hope," to benefit New Hope For Women's
efforts on our peninsula.
"Dining for Hope" will be held at the historic Russell House Restaurant
& Tavern from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 20.
The owners of the restaurant, Scott and Corinne Larson, are generously
donating 20 percent of all the day's proceeds; this includes gift
certificates, meals and beverages!
Russell House executive chef Pete Murphy's "creative American" cuisine
offers a delight for any and every palate.
Brunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., 2 to 4:30 p.m. will be
the lunch hours, and then from 4:30 to 8:30, a special version of the
dinner menu will be offered.
The day's menus will be printed on the backs of fliers which Hannaford
employees will be adding to shopper's grocery bags beginning January 16 or
17.

in domestic abuse living situations since 1981.
In addition to the main office in Rockland and the new Boothbay Harbor
office, the organization now has offices in Belfast and Damariscotta.
The Harbor office is located at 115 Townsend Avenue, in the Harborside
Center for Wellbeing.
In 2007, New Hope recorded 31 client calls for a total of 232 client
hours, including legal advocacy, for the towns of Boothbay, Boothbay
Harbor, Edgecomb and Southport.
The Domestic Abuse Prevention Council was created in 2005 and is
comprised of community members representing the hospital, police
department, churches, schools, Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, YMCA,
newspaper, United Way of Midcoast Maine, and others.
The mission of the DAPC is: The people of the Boothbay region will live
free from abuse and violence.
Literature on New Hope and the DAPC will be available throughout the
