Walter L. Wilder, M.D.
Walter Llewellyn Wilder, M.D., 81, of Edina, Minn., passed away
Friday,
November 30, in his sleep. A well-known pediatrician and allergist to generations of children and
adults in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, he retired at the age of 78. Mr. Wilder embarked on his medical career by enlisting in the U.S. Navy
as a 17-year-old in 1944. He earned his B.A. and a B.S. in medicine at the
University of Minnesota, before transferring to Harvard Medical School
where he graduated with an M.D. in 1950. In 1952 he married Rosemary (Ruzicka) and served as a Navy pediatrician
at the Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station in North Carolina during the
Korean War. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Rosemary Helen Wilder. Survivors include his children, Jennifer (Mark) Kierstead of Canaan,
Robert (Jennifer) of Wayzata, Minn., Thomas (Jennifer) of Shore-wood,
Minn., and Edward (Annette) of Lake Forest Park, Wash.; eight
grandchildren, Daniel, Jessamine (Logan), Megan, Eleanor (Logan), Robert,
Sam, Jena and Natalie; one brother, John (Susan) of Baton Rouge, La.; and
a sister, Martha (Clark) Ewald of Littleton, Colo. The funeral service was held Friday, December 7 at the Colonial Church
of Edina, in Edina, Minn. Memorials to Children's Hospital of Minneapolis,

Cynthia L. Williams
Cynthia Louise Williams, 81, of Boothbay, died on Friday, December 21
at St Andrews Hospital. Born in East Boothbay, August 26, 1926, she was the daughter of Richard
and Vera E. Reed Alley. She attended Boothbay schools graduating, from Boothbay Harbor High
School, class of 1944. In March of 1944 she married Carl B. Williams Sr.
and they made their home in Trevett. In the early 1960s Mrs. Williams started working for J. Edward Knight
Insurance Co. where she worked until her retirement in 1985. She was a life member of Crescent Chapter #54 Order of the Eastern Star
where she was a Past Matron. She was caregiver for her mother and father
at her home until their deaths. Mrs. Williams enjoyed reading and staying at home with her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl Williams, Sr.; and a sister,
Hilda Lewis. Survivors include one son, Carl B. Williams, Jr. and his wife Jane of
Southport; two daughters, Constance Reed and her husband Omer of Boothbay
Harbor and Ann Reed and her husband Robin; one brother, Richard Alley, all
of Boothbay; five grandchildren, Carey Eggen and her husband Rusty of
Worcester, Mass., Jennifer Whitney and her husband Michael of Boothbay,
Elizabeth Winslow and her husband Adam of Hollis, Heather Wilcox and her
husband Michael of Nobleboro, and Rachel Reed of Manchester, N.H.; four
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitations will be on Thursday, December 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. with an
Eastern Star Service at 7 p.m., at the Simmons, Harrington & Hall Funeral
Home, 975 Wiscasset Rd. in Boothbay. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in her
memory to St. Andrews Hospital Palliative Care, P.O. Box 417, Boothbay
Harbor, ME 04538; or The Lincoln County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 7,
Edgecomb, ME 04556. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 28, at noon at
Evergreen Cemetery in Boothbay with Rev. Sarah Folger officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Simmons, Harrington & Hall Funeral Home
