Men's Night is nigh!

Shoppers Alert! Attention all residents of the Boothbay region -particularly those who have still not finished their holiday shopping! Wednesday, December 19, is Men's Night.
What is Men's Night? It is an annual event held from 5 to 9 p.m. by the merchants of our fair town. It is a time when doors remain open for business later than usual, where a sale, or two, is not unusual, and door prizes, bake sales, gift-wrapping, hay wagon rides and choirs of local angels all wait.
The Y-Arts Youth Chorus will be caroling aboard Pat Farrin's hay wagon - all shoppers with a song in their hearts and minds are encouraged to climb aboard and make some holiday magic!
For the youth chorus members the ride ends at 6:30 when they will disembark for a 30-minute performance on the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library lawn.
Farrin's hay rides will continue for shoppers so plan on taking a jaunt for fun or to a destination - remember: at this point time is of the essence!
Activities
The Boothbay Region Art Foundation is holding an open house "art in the square," from 5 to 8 p.m.
Body Holiday's open house is from 6 to 9 p.m. and everything is on sale. Stocking stuffer idea: trial size custom-made body lotions, creams, oils and body scrubs will be given away. Door prizes, hors d'oeuvres, fresh, locally made Gelato and sorbet samples, and free treatment demos await you.
Be sure to enter the metaphysical world of Enchantments where a session with psychic, Tory, is half-price - be good and don't ask about what you may be getting for the holiday.
Grub Offerings, Al Fresco
One of the food and drink stations will be located outside Janson's Clothing Store. Donations for the grilled grub at Janson's will be cheerfully accepted on behalf of Project Graduation.
On the porch of the Village Store, soup and warm cider will be served to warm shoppers. Oh, and in case you needed incentive to shop, the Village Store and House of Logan will donating a portion of the day and evening's proceeds to the library's capital campaign.
Outside Slick's, the ice rink committee will have a table where sweet treats/gifties can be Rink Committee member Jeanne Tonon will be at a table from 5 to 9 tempting passersby with chocolate hockey pucks and more.
While you are at the ice rink table, pick up a 2008 Maine Morgan Horse Club calendar on sale by Judy Dorr (yes, it's a sister act!) for the equestrian on your list.
Girl Scout Troop 648 will have popcorn, hot cider and baked goods for sale at the Village Market.
Indoor Sustenance
Slick's Boutique will offer light fare have cheese and crackers and libation - indoors, all warm and cozy-like.
Pier 1 Pizza, on Pier 1, is serving up another special this year, one slice of pizza and a beer for $4 - limit two specials per shopper, please!
McSeagull's at the Bistro is cooking up a special offer - a 14-ounce prime rib for $14.95. And would you care for a lovely cabernet with that?
93 Townsend will have 2 for 1 dinners. Choose from chicken Alfredo, fried haddock, roast pork or a veggie pasta bowl.
The Thistle Inn will be grilling up burgers being sold with a beer for $10.
Worried you won't be able to remember all this information because your gift-giving list has taken over your mind?
No worries. Town Criers Rick Prose and Peter Panagore will be around to help one and all sort it out - preferably one at a time, of course!
It's a wrap! Holiday wrapping stations at Sherman's Book Store and Video Loft from 5 to 9 p.m. will sound like music to every shopper's ear -
And if it's music, electronics, DVDs or photos you want…you may want to have someone else in your shopping party wait for the gifties while you indulge in a bit of browsing and more shopping!
High school students raising money for their trip to Spain will be at Sherman's wrapping station. Here is another store where browsing may lead to one more stocking stuffer or something larger!
Shoppers should feel free to bring in gifts from other store for wrapping, 5 to 9 p.m.
Men's Night is sponsored by the spirited elves that are your local merchants, and the Boothbay Register. (See ad with complete listing of participating merchants inside this edition.)
