Boothbay Proclamation! BOOTHBAY PROCLAMATION! In honor of Brooke Alley earning the titles of 2007 Grand and World Champion at the Grand Nationals last month the Boothbay selectmen proclaimed November 16 as Brooke Janelle Alley and Fiddler's Camelot Day.(Photo Lisa Kristoff) |
Boothbay Chairman Chuck Cunningham read the proclamation at the
November 13 selectmen's meeting. It was then declared that November 16,
2007 was Brooke Janelle Alley & Fiddler's Camelot Day in Boothbay.
The honor was bestowed on Miss Alley and Camelot for emerging as the
2007 Grand National and World Champions.
WHEREAS Brooke Janelle Alley and her trusted partner Fiddler's Camelot,
have returned home to Boothbay from an amazing performance in Oklahoma
City as the 2007 Grand National Champions in the two events and the 2007
World Championship title holder from the Grand National Morgan Horse Show
and
WHEREAS Brooke and Camelot won the first event - the Walk, Trot Hunt
Seat Pleasure Champion for 10 and 11 year-olds and the second event -
Walk, Trot Hunt Seat Equitation Championship for 10 and 11 year-olds from
among 200 very capable competitors, and
WHEREAS Brooke and Camelot had the help of her family and friends and
her Trainer, Katie Yereance, along with her friends and colleagues at
Sea-Vu Farms and was prepared. In addition, this trip and competition
would not have been possible without the support of all those from this
community who contributed to send Brooke and Cam to Oklahoma City to win
the first time ever awarded World Championship from among 30 competitors
in her age group, and they have made the region very proud of this
outstanding award and her dedication.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Boothbay Board of Selectmen
hereby express our congratulations to Brooke, and her horse Fiddler's
Camelot upon her selection as a Grand National and World Championship
Morgan Horse winner, and declare November 16, 2007, as Brooke Janelle
Alley and Fiddler's Camelot Day in the Town of Boothbay.
Miss Alley's family was in attendance for the honor - parents, Daniel
and Angie, brother Cameron, grandparents Neal and Mary Verge and Stephen
and Eleanor Alley, and great aunt Anita Parker.
Miss Alley thanked her community for helping her to show in Oklahoma
City and the selectmen for "her day."
