Boothbay Fire Department receives grant award

The Boothbay Fire Department has been awarded $2,109 through a Homeland Security Grant applied for through the Maine State Emergency Management Agency.
Boothbay Fire Chief Dick Spofford said Boothbay's request was to upgrade the base radio at the Center station.
Kathy Blagdon, of Lincoln County 911 Communications, wrote the annual grant.
"This is a very competitive grant and we feel very fortunate that Lincoln County was awarded the $86,779 of the $169,000 we applied for," said Blagdon.
Statewide $9.5 billion was requested, but less than one-third of that amount was available. | |
