Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club

No feedback has been received regarding the directions to Gail's home,
reported
last week, so they must have been on the money. Costumes are not
necessary for our November get-together, but a favorite hors d'oeuvre is.
A large turnout is expected. Our Christmas party is to be held on December
15th at Howard and Dee Wright's home, also on Southport Island. Their home
is on the right as you approach the Boothbay Region Boat Yard and I expect
folks will be attired in their Christmas finery.
Our Vice Commodore, Louise, and her First Mate, Andy, have been in Las
Vegas this past week. She reports from L.V. that the heat has been
installed in the Hill House as the first step in establishing our winter
office there. Telephone and Fax lines will be in place shortly thereafter.
I sent them an e-mail stating that the rules have been changed by the Las
Vegas Chamber of Commerce.
Their new slogan, "What happens here will appear on the World Wide Web."
We are watching.
The Manager Search Committee has had their first meeting and they are
well along the way towards launching advertising and interviews. The
committee consists of VC Louise Holmes, Jeff Curtis, PC John Chapman,
Tony O'Neil, and PC Peter Mundy, a group of dedicated BHYC members.
There may well be a stand-in scribe next week and for some weeks
following. Happy Thanksgiving and a Very Merry Christmas.
