Since January 2005, the program's fearless leader, Tim Monfort, has helped 130 WLC participants lose over 900 pounds with weekly weigh-ins, motivational meetings, and prize incentives.

Participants have also had a chance to learn healthy eating habits, make friends and meet new people in the community, and stay motivated to achieve their weight loss goals through some friendly competition.

The fourth session of the WLC will begin on Monday, September 26. Meetings will be held ever Monday after that from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. with a closing ceremony on November 21. All meetings are held in the YMCA's Coastal Club room. Registration is $30 for YMCA members and $50 for non-members.

So gather four to eight friends, relatives, colleagues - or strangers off the street - and form a team, or register for the program and Tim will find a team for you to join. Teams will be competing for prizes based on their weekly weight loss and exercise minutes completed.
