Rotary member Jim Botti has decided to donate his 1985 Chevy Cavalier convertible to the event. The British racing green-colored car has a new transmission, steering rack, upholstery and tires. Once on the auction block, bidding on the car will start at a minimum $1,500.

A number of sailboats will be up for grabs Aug. 6, including an Alberg 22, a 17-foot O'Day sailor, and a 12-foot cat-rigged Dark Harbor starting at $750 with trailer included.

Those who often find themselves in the doldrums need not worry, as two powerboats have found their way into the auction inventory.

Antique lovers are sure to enjoy the fully operational 1890 Singer sewing machine with attachments, believed to have belonged to poet John Greenleaf Whittier's grandniece, who currently lives in North Carolina.

Other items of note include an electric meat slicer, a large refrigerated pastry display case and a VCR color camera with a battery pack.

This year's event on the Boothbay Common kicks off with the flea market at 8:30 a.m., followed by the auction at 10.
