Congratulations to two outstanding, talented members of the Boothbay area. Nicholas James ofBoothbay Harbor and Kelly Horn of East Boothbay are two young figure skaters who skated in the Skating Club of Maine and Mid Coast Recreation Center's Annual Show on Sunday, April 10th.in Rockport.

Many hours of practice resulted in a spectacular performance in the show which was loosely based on "James Bond."For the many folks in attendance, they were treatedto skating performances from about 50 skaters ranging in age from fouryears old to adult, with musicof many different countries including Israel, Greece, France, Germany and Spain as well as many other countries. Both Nicholas and Kellyperformed in synchronized numbersand also had their own features.

Kelly has skated for many years, and her jumps and spins show her dedication to this athletic sport.

Nicholas began skating only a year and a half ago, and is preparing for his first official testing session with the U.S. Figure Skating Association. He really enjoys waltz jumps and an outside edge spread eagle.

Both Nicholas and Kelly are students at Boothbay Region Elementary School.I am sure you will be seeing much more of these two in the future.Thank you Kelly and Nicholas for sharing your love of figure skating with us. Bravo!!
