Oct 18, 2001 "Serving The Communities of Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Southport, Edgecomb" Vol 125, Number 41

Oceanview Temple #112

Barbara Lewis

Our thoughts and prayers still go out to everyone in New York City and Washington, D.C. Everyone is still doing what they can to donate blood, money, clothing, food, water, and also supplies for the dogs. Let's keep up the excellent work and do what we can to help.

We are proud to say that with the help of lots of people, we raised $900 for the American Red Cross. A special thank you is sent out to Boothbay Lodge #32, the K.P. Kids, Wen's Diner, and the Texaco, for helping sell our ribbons for the Red Cross. We thank each and every person who donated to this very good cause.

The temple meets on the first and third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. We are happy our attendance has picked up and our temple is growing. We now have around 32 members.

For more information on how to become a member, you can call Linda at 633-4887 or Karen at 633-0831.

The October 4 inspection meeting went very well. Everyone looked nice, supper was great, and the meeting went well.

We have started to discuss the bowling trip in March with other temples and lodges. All members are asked to help raise the money to do this, and fund-raising ideas are being discussed. We had a really great time last year and hope to have more sisters go this year. There were two teams last year, and with all the new members there should at least have that many again this year.

The next meeting is October 18 at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be provided by Anna Cogswell, Linda Blackman, Barbara Lewis, William Burnham and Amy Dobson.
