Edgecomb
Ruth Bryant
With all of the momentous events of the world calling for our attention, we find it comforting to note that the leaves are still changing color this fall, and those pesky little ladybugs are still finding a way to get into the house. Tyse and Marcio Biasuz (formerly of Cross Point Road) proudly announce the birth of Miqueias Kenneth Biasuz. Little Miqueias has a big sister, Katrina, and we send congratulations to that whole family. Edgecomb seems to be quiet this week, but I've got some dates to give you for later on: The Edgecomb Historical Society will meet on October 25. They will be at the Quinn's house on Cross Point Road at 2 p.m. There is plenty of parking space across the road if the driveway is full. Everyone is welcome. On that Saturday, October 27, the Eddy School's PTC invites you to attend their Harvest Fair at the Town Hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will have white elephants, baked goods and books for sale. The children will be entertained with games and activities, and an auction of new treasures will coax people to do some Christmas shopping. That evening, October 27, there's to be a potluck supper at the Congregational Church. Come with a casserole, salad or dessert and join your neighbors. The supper is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., and the people who went to Hazard, Ky., will share some of their findings with you. Then, on Sunday, October 28, the Center for Teaching and Learning has scheduled an Open House. This will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the school, and they invite you to stop in and learn more about the school and its people. For more information, you are to call 882-9706 After attending all of the above, save time for setting all the clocks in the house back to standard time! |
